File permissions can be changed in your FTP client by clicking on the remote directory and selecting File Permissions or File Attributes (depending on your FTP client). They can also be changed in Telnet by using the chmod command.
The directory needs to be changed so it is group readable, writable and executable (775). In Telnet, you would type: chmod 775 dirname.
